Lagoons

 (or aerated pond) are a simple wastewater treatment system consisting of a pond with artificial aeration to promote the biological oxidation of wastewaters.

Aerobic Lagoon 

Lagoons designed to be completely aerobic, stabilizing organic matter at a higher rate than the other lagoons. The mechanism for providing oxygen can vary greatly.

Partial-mix Aerated Lagoon 

Supplied with oxygen by floating surface aerators or submerged diffusers. The introduction of aeration devices increases the operation and maintenance costs.

Completely Mixed Aerated Lagoons

These are used throughout the developed world and can produce excellent effluent quality. They are designed to exclude algae by mixing the solids.

tcl-cumbria, in conjunction with the CGE Lancaster University Engineering Department have jointly amassed prolific knowledge on the phenomena produced by GIZZMOTO as a no-moving-parts, fluid dynamics concept for use with Water and powered by Compressed Air and can demonstrate its functioning capability with that media.

Both Size 25 and Size 50 Pumps have been tested under laboratory conditions.

All other units are subject to trials.

The GIZZMOTO concept is one that offers an alternative technology solution for many industrial processes. Such is the potential multiplicity of uses (as identified in a 63-page Market Research Project from Lancaster University’s Lancaster Environmental Centre), purchasers of new units can only be offered a considered opinion on how the concept might work in a specific application.
